Using audio recordings discovered on a dictaphone when clearing out my Grandad's house following his death, John (2024) explores the theme of absence and endurance through a single shot on 1000ft of 35mm. These rec0rdings are embodied by a teenage boy who walks a Tottenham reservoir in North London, close to where my Grandad grew up. The boy’s isolation in the landscape is mirrored in the recordings.
